Enjoy the scenery on route to the Peloponnese past the Corinth Canal, and tour ancient ruins of Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Nafplio, all with a tour guide to ensure you learn their history.
First stop to the ancient hilltop city of Mycenae and enjoy a walking tour of the ruins of this once powerful, fortified settlement. Explore how the city was, in Greek myth, ruled by King Agamemnon, and view highlights such as the Palace, Tomb of Agamemnon and Lion’s Gate.
Second stop to the great theatre of Epidaurus and the Sanctuary of Asclepius the mythological birthplace of Asklepios, the Greek god of healing. Tour the spectacular relics, including the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, with its crumbled buildings. Then, ogle the breathtaking ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Built in the 4th century BC, the colossal theater is considered one of the world’s most beautiful and still boasts fabulous acoustics.
Our last destination will be the Town of Nafplio. Nafplio was the first capital of modern Greece. Take amazing photos of the Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI and the fortified islet of BOURTZI located in the middle of the harbor. Enjoy free time to walk in the narrow streets of this beautiful town with the classical buildings dated back to the 16th -17th century. You can enjoy your meal there and then return to Athens.
