First stop at Battlefield of Thermopylae, which is world-famous for the battle where 300 Spartans, led by King Leonidas, made their famous stand against the Persian invaders in August 480 BC. this conflict.
After few minutes driving, we are going to stop to Thermopyles hot springs. According to mythology, Hephaestus, after Athina’s request, created the springs for Hercules to bathe in them and thus regain his powers after his feats. The temperature of the spring’s water is 40oC. The constant flow of the water of the spring forms waterfalls, were a large number of people come to admire the scenery and bathe in the abundant waters of the spring.
Next stop, Meteorarecognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1988. Meteora is the place where the natural beauty of the region is combined with the eternal monasteries suspended or 'meteora' on top of the huge rocks. The Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, second in importance only to Mount Athos. The first monastery "The Great Meteoro" was built by Saint Athanasius after being expelled from Mount Athos, while trying to escape from his pursuers.
Now there are six monasteries in use, five of which host monks and one of them nuns. Dress code is important when visiting the Monasteries at Meteora: women must cover their shoulders and wear a long shirt, men cannot wear shorts. At the entrance of every monastery skirts and long scarves are available for free; We are going to visit two-three monasteries based on your needs.
